Gravy were commissioned to assist in a brand refresh for the Italian restaurant group Rossopomodoro, who had opened in London in 2006 when real Neapolitan pizza was a well-kept secret and the high street thin and crispy still reigned supreme.

In 2013, surrounded by new proponents of Neapolitan-style pizza, Rossopomodoro realised they needed to create a new brand profile and some significant PR in order to stand out. Street Food was the biggest and hottest update to the London food scene in a long time, and there were carts everywhere shouting about 'real' Neapolitan pizzas.

We created copy for a new website and menus and ran social media for the group during the rebrand. Our key focus was creating buzz while surrounded by many new arrivals, reminding consumers that Rossopomodoro were the definition of authentic - the chain, the ingredients and the staff were all Neapolitan.

We commissioned a mobile wood-fired pizza oven on behalf of the group, and planned and ran key promotions with the oven plus an entire summer of targeted Food Festivals and larger events. In our first year we won 'Best Stand' at the Taste of London Food Festival in Regents Park, and were a star turn again the next year, combining great pizza, an aperol spritz bar and our much admired hip hop playlist (yup).

Gravy also commissioned eye catching video content in order to promote in-restaurant events, the street food set up and the restaurants themselves.

We were retained for nearly three years, winning significant press and TV coverage for the group, including BBC One, ITV, RT, BBC Radio 2, BBC Radio London, The Evening Standard and Waitrose Magazine.
